Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones and Morgan Freeman are set to star in George Gallo's The Comeback Trail, an action comedy. De Niro plays Max Barber, a man who is in debt to a mob boss (Freeman). So he cast Duke Montana (Jones), a self-defeating, suicidal cowboy star, in the lead role of a poorly written western, and plans to create an insurance fraud case by killing him in the first few days of shooting. But Duke suddenly rises to make amends for his past mistakes and leads Max and the others on their way back.
