Thirteen-year-old black kid Chris (Tyler James Williams) lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his extremely stingy father Julius (Terry Crews), who works several menial jobs to support his family, and his vain, capable, loud mother Rochelle (Tichina Arnold), who has a pair of troubled younger siblings, Drew (Tequan Richmond) and Donya (Imani Hakim).
