Stanley (Jim Carrey), a small-time bank clerk, lives an honest life like all honest people. Once Stanley falls in love with Tina (Cameron Diaz), a beautiful blonde woman, when he receives her, but Tina is sent by a gangster, Dorian (Peter Greene), to scout out the area before he robs the bank. Dorian then succeeds in robbing the bank where Stanley is staying.One night, Stanley accidentally acquires a strange mask. After wearing the mask, Stanley becomes powerful and agile. Stanley begins to go out and play pranks on his usual bullies, and steals the huge sum of money that Dorian has robbed, and dances with Tina in a nightclub. When Dorian learns of the mask's power, he uses a trick to take it away and Stanley is sent to prison. Will Stanley be able to retrieve the mask with his own ingenuity and find love with Tina?
