Retired professor Charles (Ted Danson) finds nothing new to say in life. A year after his wife's death, he's caught up in the day-to-day chores and has grown distant from his daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis). However, when he sees a classified ad posted by private investigator Julie (Lila Ritchie Creek Estrada), he is inspired to take a desperate plunge and embark on a new adventure. Charles' mission: to secretly infiltrate the Pacific View Nursing Home in San Francisco and solve the mystery of a stolen family heirloom. Whether a resident or a staff member, everyone is a potential suspect, and Charles must solve the case without being detected by the Pacific View Nursing Home's all-knowing supervisor, Dee Dee (Stephanie Beatrice). Keeping a low profile isn't easy, however, as the affable Charles quickly wins the hearts of his fellow residents. As an “undercover gentleman,” Charles embarks on an exciting journey that makes him realize there's a lot more to life than meets the eye and reconnects him with Emily.
