Sam (Matthew Broderick) is in love with his fiancée Linda (Kylie Preston), who has resolutely broken up with him in a different relationship. Sam doesn't expect his infinite sacrifices to be appreciated by his girlfriend. Unwilling to let go, Sam rents a house near Linda's new home with her new boyfriend, Anthony, in an attempt to monitor Linda's life day and night, continuing to learn about her life and hoping that she will come around one day.Sam meets a neighbour, Maggie (Meg Ryan), who turns out to be spying on her ex-boyfriend, who turns out to be Linda's new love, Anthony. The two will surprisingly see their ex-girlfriend's tangled life with her ex-boyfriend through binoculars together, and a furious Maggie even thinks of joining forces with Sam to get back at Anthony.
