Dan (Heath Ledger) is in love with the beautiful Candy (Abbie Cornish). The two go on trips together after they get together and the time they spend together is full of love. But Candy is a drug addict, she likes to use heroin and she gets her boyfriend Dan to do it with her. They take advantage of the extreme state of euphoria that comes with drug use in an attempt to bring more excitement into their lives.
Even though Candy's parents accuse Dan of not rescuing their daughter from the sea of drugs and even getting muddy with her. In fact, they have tried to quit, but they are again influenced by Dan's gay friend Casper (Geoffrey Rush), and their addiction grows and their lives become more and more depraved ......
