In 1937, Jack Nicholson (Jack Nicholson), a police officer in Los Angeles' Chinatown, quit his job to become a private detective because he was unhappy with the darkness. One day, a woman claiming to be Mrs. Morare asked jack to investigate her husband's affair, jack readily accepted. Jack finds out that morare, the local chief hydraulic engineer, is arguing with the local farmers about the construction of the dam. Then someone gives jack some photos that prove molare's affair, and the next morning the real Mrs. Molare comes to jack and asks him to stop investigating molare.Things become more and more confusing, jack is determined to pursue...
