On a typical humid October day, advertising executive Charles (Clive Owen) misses his train, but on the next train he finds a ticket to finance investment adviser Lucinda (Jennifer Aniston). The two made a good impression on each other. Charles had to devote much of his time to caring for his daughter, who was suffering from diabetes, while his career suffered setbacks and his wife was too busy to give him much emotional comfort. After days, Charles and lucinda often meet, two people have their own family increasingly close, finally in a date later in the hotel, but this alone was quickly broken, the name of a rock (Vincent caso) stranger broke in and threatened them with guns, robbed and raped lucinda. Worried that two people cannot rely on the law that love affair exposes, and pull the blackmail is more and more frequent however, Charles decides to use his strength, go to solve this crisis.
