The story centers on Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck's miserly uncle, and his three quirky nephews, Fai (Huey Duck), Dewey (Dewey Duck) and Louie (Louie Duck). Scrooge doesn't like the children at first, feeling they are a burden to him. But after they stop a gang of "dog thieves" from robbing his vault and discover a treasure map leading to a precious treasure, Scrooge becomes very fond of them.
