After a one-night stand with a singer who was popular in Argentina at the time, Evita (Madonna) used it as a springboard for her journey to Buenos Aires. This beautiful young woman was to become the famous Mrs. Perón. However, at the age of 15, Evita has nothing, she is abandoned in a strange city and her only capital is her beauty. Elvita is able to squeeze her way into the upper echelons of society and becomes a socialite amongst the famous men. What follows is her foray into the entertainment industry with great success. She becomes a celebrity and meets Colonel Perón (Jonathan Pryce) at a charity event, where they fall in love.From there, Evita officially enters the political arena. She becomes Colonel Perón's political assistant, and has always been an advocate for the poor. As the world of politics changes, Evita gradually finds a way to realize her political ideals and works hard throughout her life to become the “First Lady” of Argentina.
