Nixon (Frank Langella) stepped down after The Watergate scandal, but he never acknowledged his mistakes to the public and owed an apology to the American people. Foster (Michael Sheen), a British playboy who hosts a talk show in Australia, sees Nixon on air leaving the White House in a helicopter and decides to interview him.With no one expecting Foster and no television company willing to pay for his interview, a team of friends, John (Matthew Macfadyen), brings in Bob (Oliver Platt), a well-known newsman, and James (Richard Nixon), who has a deep understanding of Nixon. Foster paid for the first interview out of her own pocket, got a meeting with Nixon, and fixed up back-to-back days. The panel worked hard to prepare questions to force Nixon to confess in the interview. Nixon's brain trust, too, was busy preparing an answer, and forster was never in sight. At the beginning of the formal interview, Forster could not resist Nixon's endless self-defense, which made Forster burn his Bridges behind him to find a breakthrough point...
