Phillip Fry, a 25 year old pizza delivery man from New York City whose life consisted of running around every day, was accidentally frozen on December 21, 1999, and when he woke up 1,000 years later, he had a chance to start a new life. He took a job with Interplanetary Express, a company whose main business is to provide modern express parcel services to all corners of the universe. His coworkers include Leela, the captain of the courier ship, a gruff but lovable one-eyed female alien, and Bender, an android with many human flaws; Fry, Leela, Bender, and sometimes Amy and Zoidberg risk their lives to deliver packages to all parts of the universe, and sometimes for charitable causes like tax breaks.
