Lucas the Spider is an animated character created by American animator Joshua Slice and the protagonist of a series of animated shorts on the YouTube channel of the same name. The character is based on a jumping spider and is voiced by Slice's nephew Lucas. Slice began posting a series of Lucas the Spider videos on YouTube in November 2017. Lucas' image broke the audience's inherent perception of spiders, so he quickly became popular on the Internet and was called "the cutest spider in the world" by the media.
