On the evening of May 9, a burning herd of cattle runs wildly across a farm somewhere in Kentucky, and a flying saucer rises up into the air ...... The US government soon discovers that Martian flying saucers have been assembled around the Earth, and after some thought, US President Dale (Jack Nicholson Jack Nicholson) decides to release the news of the Martians' arrival to the world. In the White House, the President's wife Martha (Glenn Close) and her daughter Daffy (Natalie Portman) are confronted with the arrival of the Martians as if they were talking about an unusual visit; in New York City, journalists Stone and Natalie are preparing for an interview with Dr Donna (Pierce Brosnan). Pierce Brosnan); in Kansas, Ricky's brother is about to serve as a guard for the Martians; and in Las Vegas, Byron, the former boxing champion, is now working hard to make ends meet for his family. When the time finally comes for the Martians to descend, they signal peace, but then it's a killing spree, with the Martians repeatedly teasing the top levels of government and the people at their wits' end; however, the weapon that can truly defeat the Martians surprises everyone ......
