A single mother (Halle Berry) lives in an isolated cabin in the woods with her two children. She tells her children that the outside world has been destroyed, that there are dangerous supernatural monsters living in the forest, and that the only way to protect them is to attach them to the house with a couple of long ropes. The mother repeatedly warns the children never to let go of the ropes, but the children gradually begin to wonder if the monsters are real, and maybe it's their mother who's really in trouble ......
