Kathy (Carey Mulligan), a 28-year-old woman, has lived at the strict boarding school Hailsham since she was a child, with Tommy (Andrew Garfield) and Ruth (Keira Knightley) as her two most important friends. The boys and girls spend the most youthful and romantic moments of their lives in the warm sunshine of the English countryside and reap the rewards of true friendship. One day, however, the boys and girls receive shocking news from Lucy's teacher (Sally Hawkins): Hailsham's ultimate goal is to train them to be organ donors, who must selflessly give everything they have until the flower of their young lives withers. At the age of 18, they were able to walk out of Hailsham and go to boarding schools all over the world. A bleak fate followed them, and they would experience much more in their short lives ......
