At the end of the 19th century, the skies over London, England are cloudy. Explorer Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) and his beautiful psychic medium, Winnissa Ives (Eva Green), search for his daughter Mina, and in the course of fighting a group of unidentified creatures, seem to spy secrets from ancient Egypt from 2,000 years ago. Genius surgeon Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), who created Frankenstein out of body parts, is bound by the shadows of the past as he experiences the joys of the Creator. Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), a down-on-his-luck American cockney who is looking around for a show, was once employed by Winnetouch for his excellent marksmanship, and his unthinkable experiences have left him hovering in London, making it difficult for him to escape, during which time he falls in love with the damsel in distress *Billie Piper*.These people are brought together for a variety of reasons, and together they face a nightmare from which they will never escape.
