Dale (Seth Rogen) has a job as a subpoena deliverer that he and others hate, and with his high school girlfriend Angie's handsome male classmates constantly on Dale's nerves, smoking marijuana has become his best support, if not his religion. Dale regularly buys marijuana at the home of punk Saul (James Franco), who sees him as a friend and sells him the best weed, "Pineapple Express," but Dale only sees him as a bigger loser than himself. That night, Dale stumbles upon a local drug dealer, Reed, and a policewoman teaming up to kill someone. Panicked, Dale leaves Pineapple Express, a rare type of marijuana, at the scene. Worried that Reed will kill and silence him, Dale and Saul have no choice but to go on the run, but their discreet and clumsy way of hiding will only involve more people in the fiasco, and the evasive character of the two men gradually learns to face up to their own weaknesses in the incident! ...
