Charlie (Mark Wahlberg) could have spent the rest of his life with the box of gold he'd stolen, but when his partner Steve (Edward Norton) betrayed him, he was thrown into a mess. Steve not only took the money to escape to Los Angeles, but also caused Charlie to taste the bitter prison.Charlie, now out of prison, was looking for Steve to settle the score. He enrogates a master thief, beauty Stella (Charlize Theron), who is responsible for opening the safe, while he and his other partners try their best to design a smooth avenue for a quick escape. Stella goes to lead Steve to hook up, but the crafty Steve sees through. Charlie quickly destroys the traffic lights in Los Angeles, causing a spectacular traffic jam. To their surprise, however, their escape is not so easy -- Instead of chasing them in a car, Steve uses a helicopter to chase them down. The underground tunnels and alleys of Los Angeles are in a free-for-all.
