In the spring of 1972, police raided a South Side Chicago apartment and arrested seven women. They all belonged to a clandestine abortion-assisted organization called Jane, which provided safe, affordable, underground services under false names, disguises, and safe houses to women who were subject to the abortion ban at the time. In the face of harassment from the Mafia, the Church, and the government, these "Sisters of Jane" showed unparalleled courage and compassion for the women who needed it most. The film premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. and was a finalist in the U.S. Documentary main competition.
