A centuries-long relationship that is blocked by life, death, and time, but only because of a single thought, there will be a time to meet.Scott (Campbell Scott), a developer for a game company, buys an antique desk and finds letters in the drawer. The letters are hundreds of years old and are owned by a beautiful woman named Lizzie (Jennifer Jason Leigh). In her letters, she writes about her distress over the blind dates arranged by her parents. Scott, on the other hand, encouraged by his mother, who is indulging in crossover themes, writes a reply to the letter at the address. Before long, Lizzie does receive a reply to her letter, surprised that her little secret is known to a stranger, and even more interested in this time-traveling future world and man. After this, the pair begin an exchange that spans six months, and in the process, they grow to love each other...
