Set more than a thousand years ago in the early 11th century, it chronicles the adventures of some of the most famous Viking characters of all time: the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Collett), his hot-tempered and capricious sister Freydis Erikstort (Frida Gustafsson), and the ambitious Norse prince Harald Sigurðsson (Leo Suter). The second season's storyline takes place shortly after the heroes' defeat at Kattegat; an event that shattered their dreams and changed their destiny. They find themselves suddenly Scandinavian fugitives, forced to test their ambition and courage in the world beyond the Kattegat fjord.
